About Lemmings Holidays

The Lemmings Charity

As we are a registered charity we have trustees who oversee our work to ensure that we meet our charitable aims. In simple terms our aim is to present the Christian Faith to young people in a way that helps them see the positive difference it can make to their life. We believe doing this whilst having a fantastic holiday is one of the best ways of doing this. If you want the technical words for this you can find it on the Charity Commission Website

Our current Trustees are:

  • Dave Courteen (Chair)
  • Kay Jones
  • Tim Jones
  • Abigail Smith
  • Richard Smith

Each year our accounts are audited and we present a Trustees report so that you can read about how we have met our charitable aims and made a difference to children and families. Charities Commission Link.

Safeguarding and DBS

Safety and professional practice is an area that Lemmings takes incredibly seriously. We ensure that all children who attend our holidays are safe, secure and cared for.

All of our staff and holiday leaders are DBS checked, approved by the directors and require to complete a detailed application form with references to verify their suitability to work with children. All staff must undergo safeguarding and professional practice training before they are able to serve on team. As well as risk assessments of our holidays and vigorous health and safety checks we ensure that every child and leader during our holidays wears wristbands at all times with Lemmings’ contact details on for added security.

Many of our leaders are first-aid trained and serve on our medical team. As well as these our staff are given high-vis jackets or officially identifiable Lemmings clothing for offsite activities. This helps our children to visualise where their leaders are at all times whilst moving together in groups. High staff-to-child ratios (usually 1:5) are ensured, especially when offsite.
